When one thinks of royal luxury dining, Virasat comes first to mind. The place boasts 5 different dining areas and each has its own unique identity. Virasat’s Swarn Mahal restaurant gives guests an elegant yet extravagantly royal dining experience. Diners get transcended into the bygone royal era. Upon entering, the guests are welcomed with garlands and a tilak (vermillion mark) ceremony. The kings used to wear turbans (or paghs) and the diners at the Swarn Mahal get a special turban tied on their heads to get into the true royal mood. The traditional feet washing ceremony is also held before the food arrives.

The restaurant has low level seating (just like the monarchs used to sit) along with giving the guests a private royal fine dining service and experience. There is always folk music and dance in the background to entertain the guests while they try the delicacies of the Marwari cuisine.

To add to the royal touch, the food at Swarn Mahal is served in silver thals for the guests. The cuisine at the restaurant is Rajasthani and the menu is specially curated by acclaimed chefs to make the taste buds happy and go wow. The chefs at Virasat cater to the vegetarians and non-vegetarians alike. Looking to have baby potatoes slathered in special Jodhpuri masala? Or want to have the famous ker sangri? Swarn Mahal chefs make these dishes just like their grandmother’s used to make. Or if the guests are more into eating meat, laal maas is a dish that has been adored by the princes and princesses for generations now. It is one of the most famous dishes of the state. Don’t forget to try it when you visit the Swarn Mahal for your royal dining experience.
